VW Mfg was founded in 2019 by Lauren Van Wyk, a dedicated innovator and farmer determined to revolutionize livestock disposal. For years, Lauren envisioned a better way to manage deceased hogs—one that would address the rising costs of traditional methods like rendering trucks and incinerators while improving farm efficiency.

Lauren turned this vision into reality by developing a machine designed to accelerate the decomposition process. After extensive research and development, he created the Dead Shredder, a skid loader attachment that simplifies hog disposal while prioritizing biosecurity and sustainability.

Over the past two years, Lauren has successfully tested the Dead Shredder prototype on his own farm, processing over 1,000 dead hogs. The results? Faster decomposition, reduced costs, and improved safety for his farm and others.

Today, VW Mfg continues its mission to deliver innovative solutions that support farmers while protecting their land and livestock.
